Smart Marketing: MySpace

myspace.jpgIn today’s smart marketing blog, I will discuss some good marketing strategies that you may want to consider for your business. The smart marketing blog is dedicated to the business owner, or for those who work in the marketing sector. Come back to this blog often to look for more updates on marketing tips and advice.

Recently I learned that MySpace and MTV have teamed up to address the upcoming presidential elections. They have decided to run a debate between the candidates where MySpace users will be able to ask candidates direct questions concerning their policies. MTV will then broadcast the debates. The target audience here are the college campuses. MTV runs college campus version of its program to many universities across the country, and MySpace has the large numbers of users to make this work. This got me thinking, and I wondered why I did not see more businesses set up a profile and network on MySpace. This is going to be the mode by which many people will communicate, so why not start developing those business relationships now? It certainly cannot hurt to load a profile and to do so is free to the user! What better advertising than word of mouth?
