While doing some research on marketing ideas, I ran across an article on data mining. Data mining! Of course! I do not know why, but I have not covered this subject before. The article concerned a partnership between the government, or more specifically, the Department of Homeland Security and Kansas State University. The data mining project was designed to improve the methods the Department of Homeland Security now uses in tracking terrorist subjects, but it gave me an idea. Businesses need effective data mining to track down the tendencies of their target audience, especially if the company offers specific retail items that will sell to a limited audience.
