Paying your bills on time
When I struggled paying off my debt, one of the easiest things to do was to be late on a bill. However, with late payments as much as $70 sometimes, that extra money that I often spent paying late payments (and then the overlimit fees that the late payment charges had caused) could have quickly paid off the cards.
Of course, late payments are a habit. If you know you have until the 5th to pay a bill, and then you wait until the 4th to pay it, you may end up with a late payment. And, some do it worse in that they count on the grace period that is implied but not stated. One company may give a 10 day grace period, but others may say that the due date is, in fact, the due date.
Pay your bills early and you’ll not have to fuss with all of that nonsense and you’ll be prospering (and get out of debt quicker too).
