Suspense Grows as Feds may Raise Rates
June 23rd, 2006 by jhampton
Wednesday and Thursday of next week the Feds will be meeting to decide if they want to raise or lower interest rates, and most investors are expecting Feds to raise the rates yet again.
One of the main reasons for the raise, if they decide to raise interest rates, would be that durable good orders have dropped significantly during the past few months. Analysts are expecting the feds to raise rates 0.5%. This will probably not be the last raise.
Ben S. Bernanke is continuing Allen Greenspan’s tradition of raising rates. The foreign rates of Japan’s Nikkei, Britain’s FSE 100 Germany’s DAX, and France’s CAC-40 remained virtually unchanged under the news that our interest rates may raise.
