You’ve heard the old adage that the customer is always right, but do you really believe it? You should, it’s an attitude like that that will get you far in your business.
Years ago I ran a small business on the internet and while many of my ‘problems’ were actually mistakes on the customers part, I would ‘eat’ the profit and allow them to exchange their order for what they really needed.
Now, this was not done for self promotion, but because I cared about the families who bought my products. However, this soon became common knowledge because on internet message boards across the net people would sing the praises of me and my company because of our liberal return policy.
The positive PR would have cost me much more than the cost of those items’ profit. What made you start selling what you sell now? For most of us, it was the love of the industry, the love of the customer, the love of the product. … remember that as you transact your business each day.
