Eliminating Debt
Setting goals is underrated, especially when it comes to debt elimination. Eliminating your debt may take years, so you need to set concrete goals in order to stay on track.
Time
How long are you giving yourself to pay off each, individual credit card? What about your car? Your home? You need to lay out a plan that takes into account each debt, one by one, and give yourself adequate time to pay it off.
Periodic Review
Rather than merely paying off your bills, you need to review your plan periodically and reevaluate the time alotted.
If you’ve a relative who’s died and left you a lump sum, you’ll want to pay some towards bills and reassess the time allowed for your others.
If you’ve lost your job you may have to put your long term plan on hold a few months. The plan will have to reflect either of these situations.
Lay out a manageable plan to achieve your debt elimination goals and soon you’ll be able to say you are debt free.
