When you make a sale on eBay the way you move up in the online food chain is to get positive feedback from your customers.
Getting this feedback can be very difficult. Sometimes people can give you bad feedback for things that are out of your control, such as lost packages, or slow mail. There are a few tips that you can use to ensure you won’t get bad feedback.
- Always be clear in the auction of the shipping costs and expectations of the buyer.
- Don’t be quick to leave feedback. It’s a good rule of thumb to wait until the buyer has left their feedback so you won’t be surprised.
- Be sure to send personal emails before and after shipping thanking the buyer for the sale.
- Enclose a personal message on the packing slip or followup email that will encourage positive feedback.
- Go above and beyond with your packing and send a small thank you in with your packages.
- If there is any conflict respond immediately and be sure you call when you don’t get a response from the buyer. Calling a buyer to resolve conflict will impress them to say the least.
- Use tracking on packages and send that information to the buyer. There are automated shipping and tracking options for most shipping companies.
These are not an all inclusive list but they will help you in maintaining your positive feedback rating. eBay is a wonderful option for an online business, so eBay away!
