Marketing Research
Most small business owners like to take the ’shotgun’ approach to marketing. Often times the small business will hire a marketing person and expect them to accomplish sales or bring new clients.
A smarter move would be to provide a marketing professional with the adequate information so that they will be able to effectively create a plan that will give you the results you are looking for.
In order to be ‘on-track’ with your marketing strategies and vision you must accomplish a few simple tasks that will either make or break your promotional efforts.
VISION - Getting a vision down on paper is the first step before you begin to strategize. Where are you going? Who do you want to be? These are the questions that encompass vision, not the what and hows.
VISUALIZE - As your vision unfolds for your marketing team, there will become a mental and emotional picture of where you are heading as a company. When this begins to take place, half the battle is won. Passion drives success more than planning.
VERBALIZE - Begin to talk about your focused or target market and start talking to THEM. Don’t assume or ‘think’, get on the phone or go in person and begin to do investigative work that will answer some basic questions.
- What desire or need is there for your current service or product?
- How can your product or service be tailored for a niche market?
- Is there enough support for your companies vision within your target market?
- What area of your potential markets have ‘they’ not considered that YOU could make them aware of?
Get the surveys going and get your marketing strategy under way. Nothing easy has value, so get ready to work and succeed!
