Budget and Save

Even when you have a budget, it’s difficult to keep things filed effectively and
stay on top of spending.
No matter how balanced your budget may be if you
fall behind in your accountability of that budget, you will not have great
success building wealth.
One of the most frustrating areas of accounting
is reconciliation for accounts and credit cards. Here are a few tips that can
help your budget not become a nightmare:
- Use a banking and budgeting software. These handy tools can keep your
budget and spending on track but they won’t update themselves nor will they auto
categorize, so you have to stay on top of your transactions. - Online banking will help you eliminate the paperwork of an account statement
and give you immediate access to your accounts. - A reconciliation record. Even if you use digital or online record keeping,
create a spreadsheet and list every credit card entry and what it was for.
Staple this or file this with your monthly statements and at the end of the year
you have a simple record of your spending without having to comb through each
statement. - Hire a professional. Don’t try to organize your finances on your own. Rely
on the expertise of a wealth coach or financial organizer to help you stay on
track with your records and your spending.
Good records and receipt
keeping are essential to get our of debt and build wealth. For those non-check
writers, there is now an option for a ‘debit’ book for holding cards and writing
down check card transactions.
