When a computer gets sick, it can cost a company everything.  Some computer
related illnesses are easy to screen and prevent, however, there is a false
sense of security when it comes to virus protection.

companies will advise you that their software will protect your system and your
online business from harm.  After several turns at the ‘down-time’ wheel, we’ve
discovered this is NOT the case.

You need protection from Trojans that
can do anything from send your surfing habits to a third party to wiping your
system out completely.  There are also issues with spy ware and malware that can
cause your private information to be transmitted to anywhere and little programs
that just want to put you out of commission.

little favors on your systems can happen in a second without your knowledge so
what can you do to protect yourself?

protection, Trend Micro, Inc. does a fantastic job with their PCcillin package. 

This software not only protects you from virus invasion, spy ware, and
from direct attacks, it does so without overloading your system resources and
causing a sluggish response.

For added protection and to ensure that your
ecommerce network won’t come crashing down, consider installing Microsoft’s
Anti-spy ware and Spybot Search & Destroy on your system.  These are both
free applications and will find and eliminate different variants.

In all
things, be smart.  Don’t leave your system open with no protection and be sure
to update daily.  It’s like leaving the front doors of your business unlocked with no one inside!
