Business Marketing Help

online marketing strategy

Marketing agencies and firms are everywhere, finding the right one is not as easy.  Looking online or in the phone book is just the first step.  Knowing how to decide who to choose is a different story.

First, look at your business.  What are your core values and strengths?  Are you in a niche market and who is your competition?

When you have the answers to these questions you can qualify a potential agency by the way they respond to your questions.  Ask them about their focus in your target market and ask them how they feel their services will directly assist you and your vision.

Second, know what you want to accomplish through marketing for your company.  Don’t just think, "I want more business."  That won’t get you a focused marketing campaign from anyone.  Think more in lines of measurable goals and milestones such as, "I want to increase business $20,000 per month."  Whether you want increased income, clients, or just exposure, know what you want to accomplish.

Ask for referrals in your industry, if they don’t have a referral, just go elsewhere.  You don’t want to be the business that breaks a firm into your market place.

Remember to get a full strategy proposal before signing an agreement.  Don’t expect to keep the strategy, but do expect to see it and be walked through.  Understand also that marketing is some science and some chance.  You have to allow for both ends and be flexible.

Once you find your marketing partner, get them rolling, don’t wait.  Some plans won’t see any results until certain foundations are in place.
