More Sales for Your Online Business

Sales are good, but wouldn’t it be great if you could get a few more sales during each checkout?

A common technique in growing the sale is found in the fast food industry.  You drive up for just a coke and someone asks if you’d like to try a number 3 combo.  You think and say, no… I’d like a number 4.  Then the all famous line of, "would you like fries, hot apple pie, etc." flows through the speaker.

It’s the common world of up-selling.  Taking a guaranteed sale and making it larger.  eCommerce is no different.

When your customer goes to the checkout you could offer ‘related’ products such as a book buy the same author or on the same subject.  Most of the time, I will take that recommendation.

Offering associated products is another great way of increasing the sale.  Just a few weeks ago I purchased a wireless presentation remote for public speaking engagements and was asked if I would like to add batteries, a case, some speakers for my computer, and a full coverage warranty.  Of course I only bought the speakers and the batteries, but that was their plan in the first place.

Giving other specials and incentives are a good practice and will most likely get you a higher sale overall.  Remember to stay on top of your specials and don’t allow them to remain after the deadline, people will begin to not take them seriously.
