Stocks can jump and drop quickly, sometimes so quickly that the delay of information could cost you with online trading.
Remember there is a HUGE difference with online trading and online investing. If you are wanting to trade there are several things you need to remember:
- Set price limits on fast moving stocks
- Online trading is not instant, there may be a lag due to internet connection, computer hanging up
- Don’t resubmit an order just because you don’t see it. There could be delays in returned information and you could buy or sale twice.
- Know the guidelines for trading for your specific broker.
Get all the details from your broker and know how your investment account works. There are great tips at the SEC website.
