Marketing Budget Breakdown

When you think of a marketing campaign budget most of the time you just consider advertising expenses. There is much more to marketing than just paying for ads.
In order to have an effective marketing budget, keep in mind these areas:
Trade Shows - these are a great way to get your business seen by a lot of potential customers at the same time, face to face. Don’t under estimate the sales that these can bring and be sure to take plenty of product and business cards when you go. Trade shows will also connect you with others in your industry or complementary and competing industries.
Public Relations - sending press releases, affording a weblog, and other promotional aspects of your campaign that will build your business to the public should be considered.
Direct Marketing - ads are good, but mailings can be even better. A well developed direct marketing mailing can have a great ‘life-span’ in some homes or businesses.
Online - web marketing or the development and maintenance of a company website is key in today’s market. Find a professional to assist you in this, a poorly designed or home made website can destroy all the investment in other areas of marketing.
Although this is not a complete listing, these are areas that you need to strongly consider when developing your campaign budget. Remember to allocate funds for miscellaneous expenses or events that may not be scheduled and of course don’t forget to budget effectively. How much publicity can you do with $1,000?
